When I first started driving I was extremely nervous so I needed a driving instructor who I got along with and who made me feel at ease and who also had patience! I had 4 driving instructors before Shaun and whilst they were all ok I didn't feel particularly comfortable or have a connenction with any of them. Then Shaun was recommended to me, so I thought I'd give him a go! From my very first lesson I felt happy and more confident than I had with anyone else, Shaun was also extremely patient and put up with my little strops! I think I had been learning with Shaun for around 6 months when I put in for my test, and I was so nervous on the day but Shaun made me feel loads calmer by making me laugh on the lesson before it and I actually almost forgot I was about to have my test! During my test I really thought I'd failed and when the examiner told me I passed I think I may have screamed!

Shaun is a great driving instructor who seems to really enjoy his job and makes you feel comfortable and confident, I have already recommended him to my best friend and I will happily tell anyone else who wants to learn to drive!

I passed 1^st time with Shaun Shepherd!

I’d had 6 driving instructors, passed 2 theory tests, failed 3 practical tests and had being billed for a damaged tyre!

Will I ever drive? I thought, I began to get very frustrated and anxious. After failing my 3^rd test my driving confidence was at an all time low, so I decided to take a break and focus on my studies. It had almost being a year since I had driven, I was soon going to have to go on placement as part of my degree and my theory certificate was about to expire again! So I decided to go for it!...............

That was it I was determined that I was going to do an intense course, and not stop till I passed. I looked on the internet, most were residential but I didn’t want to go away from home. I found LDC, I was pleased when I read I could do a driving course one to one with one of their instructors in from the comforts of my home. I searched for an instructor in my area, I found Shaun I didn’t waste anytime in contacting him. I explained my situation and said I would like to do a course, he was really friendly and helpful and booked me in for an assessment lesson to asses my driving skills. Two weeks later I had my assessment lesson I was a bit nervous but by the end of the lesson I felt comfortable, and felt like id never stopped. Shaun was very reassuring and pleasant he let me take things at my own pace, and gave me positive feedback which built my confidence. I couldn’t wait to start my course! I told Shaun exactly what I wanted to do, 20hrs driving on the 2^nd week of the Easter holidays and take my test on the Friday morning. He sorted everything out for me and even didn’t mind working the bank holiday.

My driving week had arrived, I was very excited and couldn’t wait to get going. We did 2 hours in a morning and 2 hours in an afternoon over 5 days which worked well for me as I had a rest in-between. As the week went on my driving skills improved and my confidence went up, I thought to my self I’m going to do it this time! Shaun was brilliant he was professional, made me feel comfortable, confident, he always spoke positive to me, he listened to what I said and adjusted his teaching methods to suit my needs. By the end of the week I was very tired of driving, I just wanted to do my test. On the Friday morning I did 2 hours driving then went for my test in Eccleshill, I couldn’t wait for it to be over. On my test at times I thought id failed by making silly mistakes, but I did what Shaun had taught me I spoke to my assessor and corrected myself. I heard the words you have passed the test!! Wow I thought I was so excited, I couldn’t believe it I waved my pass certificate out of the window for the whole world to see!

My life is going to be so much easier now, I’m so happy and proud of myself. Doing a driving course worked for me as I’m always so busy, it made me focus on my driving and remember what I had learnt. I owe Shawn a big thank you, he was a great bloke and helped me get to where I am today. I would definitely recommend him to a new learner or someone who has had lessons before, for an intense course or hourly lessons. Cheers Shaun!
